Richard, I have a couple of pictures I need to upload of you with Jerry McKinsey at Dong Ha, April 1967. I had left 2nd PLT and was with the Alley Cats at that time. Just learned yesterday that Jim Ross has passed. RIP.

Hi everyone, I have made it into the Black Cat family. The Cat`s have always`s been a BIG part of my life, as they have been for you. Was there in 1971 as 1st. plt. gunner. Flew mostly with Mr. Foster & Mr. Alvarado, Tucker was my crew chief. While there I was know`n  as Big Jake. I hope some one remember`s  me, ( in a good way) crashed June 10th,1971. I hope you have marked your calendar and made your plans to help celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the 282nd AHC.

The celebration will be held in Columbus, Georgia, October 8 – October 11, 2015.

Our Host Hotel is:

The room rate is $89.00 per day and is available three days before October 8th and three days after October 11th. This rate includes a full hot southern style breakfast daily. Reservations must be received by September 8, 2015. After this date, reservations will be accepted on a space and rate available basis only.

The registration for the reunion is $50.00 per person. The registration includes the banquet Saturday night and refreshments that may be provided by the Association. Hope to see you all there!

I was looking at the guestbook & saw the name Martinez, I too was with the 1st. plt. in 1971 .Flew often with Joe Tucker,Alvarado,Jim Foster, Paul Roderick flew gunner when they picked us up from crash site on June 10th.1971. At the time I was known as Big Jake, feel free to say Hi.

I have had more copies made of our 1969 282nd AHC Black Cat Yearbook. (24 copies total) There are over 50 pages of black & white photos of Platoons, groups and individual soldiers. Not all men were photographed individually, (some were flying missions) but most are in the group pictures. Ray thanks  for the Christmas card from you and your wife, it generated an interest of my wife Sarah that she is totaled committed that I will make the next re-union which will be my first one and I am looking forward to it. Please send me copy of the re-union flyer. Please put my name down for the scheduled ride on the Huey.

I just found the new web site today, and have been on it for the entire day. I responded to one of the messages inquiring about CWO 2 Hasselman one of our pilots we lost.
