My son purchased a jacket at a garage sale a couple years ago it is his favorite thing ever. He has been trying to do research on it. Everyone he wears it (he's 9 years old so we let him because there is no mistake or stolen Valor issues, he's just a kid) some adult offers him a lot of money for it. The name on the jacket is Sullivan. Can anyone give us any info on this jacket? Thanks

Where did he purchase it. We had several Sullivan's in the unit. did it have any rank insignia on it?

Jenifer: I need more info on the jacket. Where did you buy it? Any other patches insignia on the jacket? It could have been the 282nd commander in 1967 Col Bill Sullivan. We also had other Sullivan's in the company. If it was a leather jacket it was probably his.  Ted Kearns

Sending a tribute on this day to all those we lost.  The only one I really remember is George Moore.  Prayers for all our fallen brothers, may they Rest IN Peace.

Marcia Schoonover - Saturday, 23 May 2015 16:27

Hi, I just found this wonderful site. My brother was Mark Cowles, known as "Ozzie". He was a 282nd Assault Hellicopter Pilot, Chief Warrant Officer 2.  He was in Danang from Dec. '70 - March '71. This plaque I have says Alley Cat 7.  Mark died in 2005 from multiple health issues stemming from his time in VietNam.  If anyone remembers Mark, please e-mail me!

I don't know if Mark knew about this site. It is so wonderful that you men can stay in touch and talk about your expierences.  That would have helped Mark.

Thank you for your service - all that you endured in VietNam and to this day.

God Bless You,  Marcia Schoonover

The beginning of May a fellow Vietnam Veteran in the mid-west started the online "Vietnam Vets Radio" station. Vietnam era music is played 24 / 7 with authentic jingles and public service announcements played on AFVN. Remember "Chicken Man"??

At 8 pm CST (9 pm EST) is "Party Time" a song request show. It really is pretty good, especially the request show. http://vietnamvetradio.com/
