Hello Ray and my BlackCat family. I thank you for all the good works you do with the web page. I remember some of are brothers that have passed and was there May 8th 69 to April 13 70. May they rest in peace and make a place for us when we are together again.  I remember flying with C. McCall on AC 37 taking a Aussy three Star to the last outpost on the DMZ and being warned on approch not to land just dump the general  into the command bunker as we were taken morter rounds into compond and broke away on the QT with words over radio we have a MIG on our tail. Thanks to the F-4s close by we were saved from a no win Slick encounter.  Bill Giles

That’s the kind of stuff that made it all worthwhile. It was the gratitude of the guys on the ground that I will always remember.

CWO2 Hassleman walked into a tail rotor during a preflight check for a test flight. He had less than a month left on his tour.

I was on the flight line that night, I was the first one to him and pulled off my flight shirt to put on his head. I know he had signs of life for a couple of hours after arrival at the hospital. I was the 2nd Platoon Commander.
